Mounting compFUSEd from /etc/fstab

Mounting from /etc/fstab can make your life easier, here's how you can do it.

IMPORTANT: at the moment of this writing the compFUSEd binaries and plugins are not installed in any central location (like /usr/ for example). So the path mentioned in this example is the absolutte path to a compFUSEd build under the root home dir. This will not necessarily be the case for you.

By adding the line below to the /etc/fstab of you system you can mount compFUSEd on the given mount as you with with any other mount! The first value is the path to the compFUSEd binary (you path may differ). The second value is the mount pount. The third one indicates that this is a FUSE filesystem. This will invoke the mount.fuse script. You can still add more parameters but this should already work

/root/CompFused/Gismo/cf_main   /root/CompFused/Gismo/cf_mount  fuse

ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: the mount point (here /root/CompFused/Gismo/cf_mount) has to appear in you compFUSEd configuration file. And its must be exactly the same; pay attention to the leading slash ('/')!

  • How to dual-boot Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7

LinuxBSDos.com: One tool that has seen very little or no change over the past several releases in Ubuntu Desktop is the installation program. So it is somewhat surprising that some users are having problems dual-booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 using a tutorial written for Ubuntu 11.04.
